2018 Fall Football Registration is now CLOSED


FALL FOOTBALL

The AJAA Football Committee, USA Football and the Avon Junior Athletic Association are committed to ensuring a positive youth football experience. We provide leaguewide benefits for AJAA players, parents and coaches through USA Football’s Heads Up Program. Indianapolis-based USA Football and the AJAA have been partners since 2011. USA Football is the sport’s national governing body and is the official youth football development partner of the NFL and its 32 teams.

All coaches are prepared to lead their teams by completing a 15-chapter coaching education course on usafootball.com, encompassing how to best teach football fundamentals, communicating with players and player health and safety, including concussion education and management. Parents, players and coaches also receive exciting USA Football resources.


What you should know about Fall Football 2018

Divisions:

  • Flag (K & 1st grade)

  • Junior Tackle (2nd grade)

  • Minors (3rd & 4th grade)

  • Majors (5th & 6th grade)

Registration:

  • Registration Period:  April 23rd - July 14th


Registration Fees: 
 

  • Flag Football (Kindergarten & 1st Grade) Registration Only - not eligible for camp: $110 

  • Jr. Tackle (2nd Grade) Registration & Camp fee: $180

  • Minors (3rd & 4th Grade) Registration & Camp fee: $185

  • Majors (5th & 6th Grade) Registration & Camp fee: $185

***This year, the registration fee includes the fee for players to attend football camp at Avon High School for Jr. Tackle through Majors .  No discounts are given for players that are not able to attend camp.  
 

Evaluations:

  • Junior Orioles (Travel) Evaluations: Friday May 18th - 20th from 6:30 - 8:30 @ AMSN

    • 6th, 5th and 4th graders only

  • Jr Tackle, Minors and Majors evaluations will be done during AHS's football camp: July 9th - 12th from 5:30 PM - 7:15 PM @ AHS

  • Evaluation Make-Up Date - July 13th from 5:30 PM - 7:15 at AHS

  • There is no evaluation for flag

  • If your child is unable to attend evaluations, they will still be included in the team selections.

Season Dates:

  • Practice Starts: Week of July 16th

  • Regular Season Ends: September 22nd

  • Tournament Dates: Week of September 24th

  • All Star Tryouts: August 19th (2nd - 6th Grades) from 6:00 - 8:00 PM @ Cedar Elementary

  • Picture Day: TBD

  • Games are on Saturday mornings but we will be playing one minor and major games at AMSS during the week under the lights.

  • Practices are held in the evenings (days/times TBD).  Practices typically begin around 6pm/6:30pm

Equipment Fitting Dates:

  • Flag - No equipment fittings needed

  • Junior Orioles - May 11th @ AJAA from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

  • Majors - June 12th @ AJAA from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

  • Minors - June 13th @ AJAA from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

  • Jr. Tackle - June 14th @ AJAA from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

  • Open dates for all divisions:

    • June 19th @ AJAA from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

    • June 26th @ AJAA from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

    • July 17th @ Cedar from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

AHS 2018 Fall Football camp info:
Monday July 9th-12th (AJAA Football players Jr. Tackle through Majors attend camp as part of their registration.
Players will be evaluated for the season at camp so it's important to be there. 

Be sure to arrive early and bring the following with items with you:

  • Helmet and Shoulder pads issued by AJAA (for those who are registered and have not picked up equipment, there will be equipment at the AHS. Please arrive early!)
  • Practice Jersey
  • Mouthpiece 
  • Cleats & Tennis shoes in case of bad weather (no metal spike cleats)
  • Football pants are NOT necessary for camp
