Rec Fall Football Overview

OVERVIEW
The AJAA Football Committee, USA Football and the Avon Junior Athletic Association are committed to ensuring a positive youth football experience. We provide league-wide benefits for AJAA players, parents and coaches through USA Football’s Heads Up Program. Indianapolis-based USA Football and the AJAA have been partners since 2011. USA Football is the sport’s national governing body and is the official youth football development partner of the NFL and its 32 teams.

All coaches are prepared to lead their teams by completing a 15-chapter coaching education course on usafootball.com, encompassing how to best teach football fundamentals, communicating with players and player health and safety, including concussion education and management.

AJAA FALL REC FOOTBALL SEASON
Practices will begin the week of July 15th, 2019
Games will begin Saturday August 3, 2019
Season ends by Saturday October 5, 2019
**season could be slightly extended if makeup games are needed
***most games will be played on Saturdays

COST

Flag (Kindergarten -6th Grade): $85
Jr. Tackle (2nd Grade): $165
Minors (3rd & 4th Grade): $170
Majors (5th & 6th Grade): $170
***NEW for 2019: any registered tackle player (Jr Tackle - Majors) can register for Flag football for some added fun and recreation for a discounted fee.  After registering for tackle, please email [email protected] for a discount code to register for Flag Football in the Fall.

REGISTRATION

Registration opens April 1, 2019
Regular registration closes May 31, 2019
Late registration begins June 1, 2019 (includes a $25 late fee)
Late registration ends at midnight on June 16, 2019
**No registrations will be accepted after June 16th 2019

FALL FOOTBALL WALK-UP REGISTRATION
When: May 17th from 5:30 – 7:30 PM. 
Where: AJAA Fields
Walk up registration is right around the corner! You will be able to register for fall football and pick up your equipment at the same time. If you are already registered, you will also be allowed to pick up your equipment during this event. 

In addition to this, we need as many people who are interested in a fall coaching position to attend this event to get trained on how to properly fit the kids with a helmet and shoulder pads. If you need more information on volunteering, please email Football Commissioner by clicking HERE.  Our first mandatory coaches meeting is June 6th.

PRACTICES AND GAMES
Flag league typically does not practice - games are planned for Saturdays
Jr. Tackle through Majors usually practice a couple of times a week up to 4 times a week before games begin (coaches discretion)  Games typically on Saturdays
**games could be held through the week in the evenings if make up games are needed


EQUIPMENT FITTINGS
Registered AJAA Fall Football players can come pick up a helmet and pads on the following dates:
Friday May 17th from 6-8pm at the AJAA Fields
Wednesday June 5th from 6-8pm at the AJAA Fields
Wednesday June 12th from 6-8pm at the AJAA Fields


EVALUATIONS

Evaluations for Jr Tackle through Majors are at the AJAA Fields on:
Tuesday June 25th from 6-8pm
Thursday June 27th from 6-8pm
Saturday June 29th from 10am to noon for anyone that could not make the previous two dates


EQUIPMENT NEEDED
Cleats (no metal spikes)
Football pants
Mouthpiece

2019 Avon High School Fall Football Camp

Welcome to the 2019 Avon High School Football Camp Registration.  

This registration allows your player to attend the Avon High School Football Camp July 8th - 11th/12th from 5:30pm to 7:15pm at the Avon High School Football Stadium.  

This camp is open to 2nd through 6th graders for the 2019-20 school year.
